Peer-led Menstrual Education
We have worked with teachers and pupils to trial and provide resources to facilitate peer-led menstrual education in your school.
Guidance for peer-led learning
This guidance for peer-led menstrual education was created to help schools implement effective peer-support initiatives. Based on insights from our Pupils' Voice research study, pupils highlighted the importance of peer-to-peer learning, where older pupils mentor younger ones to foster open discussions, reduce stigma, and improve access to accurate menstrual health information.

The resource provides practical steps for recruiting and training peer educators, along with structured activities, presentations, and tools to support the development of peer-led programs in schools.

By complementing traditional menstrual health lessons, this approach empowers young people to share knowledge, build confidence, and create a more supportive school environment.

Complementary resources
We have designed a quadrant activity to gather insights from pupils on the key elements needed for delivering peer-led menstrual education in their school.
Additionally, we have developed a co-design card game to help pupils plan and decide how to implement peer-led menstrual education effectively.
To facilitate these two complementary activities, you will need to download and print the specially designed quadrant template and card set.
